*Each week there will be a new topic for sharing.

*Each student must be prepared to discuss the topic with his or her classmates for approximately 3-4 minutes during morning meeting.

*Students are allowed to jot down notes on a piece of paper or index card to organize their thoughts and to help remember what to say during their sharing time.



September Topics

Week of September 9th:  Tell of something that is unique or interesting about yourself.

Week of September 16th:  What is your favorite movie?

Week of September 23rd:  What is your favorite thing about fall?

October Topics

Week of September 30th:  Tell of ONE place where you have a lot of fun.

Week of October 7th:  Tell about something you are good at.

Week of October 14th:  What is your favorite store?

Week of October 21st:  What music do you enjoy the most?

Week of October 28th:  What scares you the most?

November Topics

Week of November 4th:  What is your favorite book?

Week of November 11th:  Free (Your choice of topic)

Week of November 18th:  What is your favorite meal?

December Topics

Week of December 2nd:  Tell about a trip you have taken.

Week of December 9th:  What is a favorite game or toy that you like to play with?

Week of December 16th: Write a report to tell what holiday(s) you celebrate at this time of the year. The report should contain 2-3 paragraphs that tell about some of your family traditions, and why this holiday is special. Be ready to read your report and to answer questions from your classmates.  You may also bring in a few pictures to share.

January Topics

Week of January 6th: What is your New Year’s resolution? (Something you would like to improve, change or do differently in the year 2020)

Week of January 13th: Talk about a current event. What is something you have read or heard about in the news? (local, state, national, world news, weather, sports, etc.)  You are HIGHLY encouraged to ask a parent for help and to take lots of notes to prepare for this topic. It would be helpful to bring in your notes on the day that you present. This will also be helpful for the in-class writing activity on your current event. You may choose to create a slideshow using PowerPoint or Google slides as well.

Week of January 20th: If you could meet any famous person in the world, whom would you want to meet? (What would do? Say? And/or Ask?)

Week of January 27th: Show and Tell! (You may bring in ONE artifact or thing of your choice to explain why it is important to you.)

February Topics


Week of February 3rd:  Who is a very important person in your life? (Be prepared to talk about why this person is important and/or what they mean to you.)

Week of February 10th:  If you had three wishes, what would you wish for?

Week of February 24th:  What is ONE thing that makes you happy? What is ONE thing that makes you angry?

March Topics


Week of March 2nd:  What is the best advice you have ever received?

Week of March 9th:  Bring in any favorite book and tell about it. Be prepared to discuss the main character(s), setting, plot, and a short summary.

Week of March 16th:  What is the best part about Spring?

Week of March 23rd:  Talk about a current event. What is some-
thing you have read about or heard in the news? (local, state, national, world news, weather, sports, etc.)

April Topics

Week of March 30th:  What have you done in school, sports, or any other activity that you are especially proud of?

Week of April 13th:  Discuss the different types of electronics that you use at home. Explain what you do with them and how they benefit you and/or others.

Week of April 20th:  Earth Day is April 22nd. Tell something that you have done recently to help keep the community clean or the Earth a better place in some way.

Week of April 27th:  Tell about a time that your mom did something special for you.

May Topics

Week of May 4th: What is something that you (or a family member) might do at home that involves mathematics?

Week of May 11th: Which other country would you like to visit? Tell why and what things you would like to do there. (It may be helpful to write notes so you can use them while you are speaking.)

Week of May 18th: What does Memorial Day mean to you? Why do you think this holiday is special and important?

Week of May 25th: Show and Tell! (You may bring in ONE artifact or thing of your choice to explain why it is important to you.)


June Topics


Week of June 1st:  To Be Announced

Week of June 8th:  Research 3 important facts about the American Flag.  (You may write notes or a paragraph to read from while you share with your classmates.) Challenge yourself to share information that others may not already know!

Week of June 15th:  Share a funny story about your Dad.



Week of June 22nd:  What are 3 things that you are planning to do this summer?
